The beta version of Iris requires:

• $15 one-time purchase of Iris through this site.
• An OpenAI API key that will be charged based on usage (instructions after purchase).

In other words, OpenAI will bill you for using their model through Iris. Check out their website for pricing details.

By default, Iris will use OpenAI’s GPT-4 model.

However, if your OpenAI account is relatively new, you won’t have GPT-4 access. In this case, Iris will use GPT-3.5 instead — when you're approved for GPT-4, Iris will notify you and automatically begin using it.

For reference, I’m using GPT–4 and I usually average $10-$15 per month on fees. You can expect around the same or less — I talk to Iris a lot, as you can imagine.
